The Ike Foundation® Hook‘em Early Kids Fishing Event Recap

The Ike Foundation® hosted a Hook‘em Early Kids Fishing Event on Saturday, October 26th at Memorial Lake in Woodstown, NJ. Over 100 kids registered to come out and fish for the morning, having some with prior fishing experience and a few that have never fished before!

All children were given a Flambeau tackle box and worms donated by DMF Bait upon arrival. Children who needed a fishing rod were given an Abu Garcia Ike Dude rod to use for the morning and to take home with them to continue using. We want to give a big THANK YOU to Farmers and Bankers Brewery, Cream Valley Custard, and Frank J. Hoerst, III, Attorney at Law for outfitting a number of youth anglers for this event!

There was plenty of fish caught throughout the event, ranging from bluegill, bass, catfish, and even a turtle! Volunteers helped measure each fish and recorded it for the anglers. The kids were separated into three different groups based on their age (6 and under, 7-11, and 12-15). At the conclusion of the event, the total length of fish was calculated and the top 3 in each age group were awarded a medal.

Ages 6 and under:

  1. Wyatt Buggy 124.5”
  2. Matthew Buggy 76.5”
  3. Hunter Dzbenski 58.25”

Ages 7-11

  1. Ben Fulford 55.5”
  2. Mason English 35.5”
  3. Damiani Luciano 30”

Ages 12-15
