May 16, 2024, Pittsgrove, NJ. The 2024 Ike Foundation® Scholarship Winners Have Been Announced! 225 high school seniors from across the country with an earned GPA of at least 3.2 submitted applications for The Ike Foundation® College Scholarship. Students were required to submit letters of recommendation, a high school transcript, a college acceptance letter, and an essay that answered the following question:
“How has your fishing or outdoor activities helped you become more aware of environmental issues? Please share specific examples where these activities made you think about the environment and explain how these examples influenced your views on conservation and sustainability.”
This year’s pool of applicants was extremely impressive. The Ike Foundation® conducted a blind review of all applications and essays and scored submissions based on a pre-defined point system. Each winner will be receiving a $2,200 Ike Foundation® College Scholarship to the college of their choice. The five winners are listed below along with their intended majors:
Isaiah Atoe – Fisheries Management – Dallas, TX
Alexandra Carson – Television and Film/Documentary – Joplin, MO
Edmund Cain – Environmental Science or Geological Engineering, Las Vegas, NV
Ojas Shah – Mechanical Engineering – Bloomington, IL
Isabella Villalobos – Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries Management – Universal City, TX
Upcoming 2024 Ike Foundation® Fundraising and Kids Events:
- 9th Annual Ike’s Pro-Am Boat Tournament– Saturday, June 1st
- Chesapeake Bay / Anchor Marina in North East, MD
- The entry fee is $350 per boat.
- Prizes will be awarded to the top five winners with a five-fish bag.
- The top prize will be a BassCat Bobcat with a Yamaha Outboard

- Ike’s Youth Tournament Trail: May 18th, June 22nd and September 7th
The Ike Foundation has created a tournament trail to include youth ranging in ages from 8-13 and 14-18 (must be enrolled in school) who haven’t been exposed to this type of fishing environment. Young anglers are welcome to sign up for one or all events, regardless of skill level.
- Anglers fish on a bass boat with a fully vetted boat captain volunteer
- 6 am-12:00 pm
- Entry fee is $20
- Prizes will be awarded to the top five place winners including Lunker and Miscellaneous categories.
