On Saturday, April 26th, The Ike Foundation and Bronco Wild Fund held an Ike’s Hook ‘Em Early Kids Fishing Tournament at Daretown Lake!
Daretown Lake was packed with over 75 kids ready to fish! By 8 am, lines were in and everyone was anticipating their first catch. Thanks to the Bronco Wild Fund Grant, we were able to supply each child with an Abu Garcia rod, a Flambeau Outdoors tacklebox, Ike Foundation sunglasses, and worms.
We had some amazing volunteers come out for the morning to help us with our event. They made their way along the bank to help measure each fish, untangle lines, safely release the fish, and help out with setup and break down. Our volunteers ranged from high school students to experienced anglers who gave us a few hours out of their morning. We are so grateful to everyone who donated their time!
Gentilini Ford was also in attendance with a few Broncos on display. Frank Olivier of Gentilini Ford made a donation of $1,000 to The Ike Foundation! During the event, we collected trash from around Daretown Lake to ensure we left it just as beautiful as when we arrived.
Bill Hoffman from Hoffman Exterminating lent a helping hand during our event…helping kids with measuring their fish, and Bugsbee helped with the flower planting station and was happy to take pictures with all of the kids in attendance!
