Fish Against Ike

We donated $5,000 from the ‘Fish Against Ike’ Virtual Fishing Tournament to the Food Bank of SJ. Since COVID-19, they’ve seen a 200% increase in the request for food. They support Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem counties. Here’s a quick summary of my chat with her this morning.

  • They have a Hope Mobile that goes out with groceries that families can take to make healthy meals at home.
  • They also provide a Pop-Up pantry in various locations throughout the area.
  • Mobile Meals (targets kids) takes prepared fresh meals to families in HUD housing complexes in Salem County twice a week, on Mon. and Wed. They give them enough to freeze for the rest of the week.

We also donated $2,500 to the Family Success Center of WJ. They provide shelter and financial assistance and advice to families displaced due to unemployment during COVID-19.
