The Ike Foundation returned to Cramer Hill Waterfront Park with The Center for Aquatic Sciences and the Camden County Police Department to take students from LUCY Outreach fishing in Camden, NJ. It was a beautiful day and many of the children were thrilled to catch their first fish! The foundation understands the intrinsic value of spending time outdoors. Research has shown that children who spend time in natural environments have enhanced creativity and executive function, fewer behavior problems and an increased engagement and enthusiasm for learning. We look forward to continuing out partnership with LUCY Outreach to get more kids out fishing and enjoying the outdoors!
